Experience Pain-Free Living with Velocity Physical Therapy

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a therapeutic technique used by certified physical therapists to relieve muscle pain and improve movement. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles into trigger points—tight or knotted areas of muscle—to release tension, reduce pain, and restore function. Dry needling is often used in combination with electrical stimulation to treat an array of musculoskeletal conditions, and is part of a comprehensive treatment plan aimed at promoting healing and improving overall mobility.

SASTM

SASTM (Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) is an advanced manual therapy technique that uses specialized instruments to detect and treat soft tissue dysfunction. By gliding the tools over the skin, therapists can identify areas of scar tissue, adhesions, and fascial restrictions. The tools help stimulate the body’s natural healing response, improving tissue mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing overall function.

Cupping

Cupping Therapy is a manual technique used to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing process. During treatment, special cups are placed on the skin to create gentle suction, which helps increase blood flow, loosen tight muscles, and reduce inflammation. Cupping can be beneficial for managing pain, improving mobility, and accelerating recovery from injury. It is often used alongside other physical therapy techniques as part of a comprehensive treatment approach

NMES and TENS

NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) and TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) are non-invasive therapies that use electrical impulses to support pain relief and muscle function.

NMES targets muscles to stimulate contractions, helping improve strength, reduce muscle atrophy, and enhance motor control—especially useful during rehabilitation after injury or surgery.

TENS focuses on pain management by stimulating sensory nerves, which can help block pain signals and release endorphins for natural relief.

Both therapies are safe, effective, and often used in combination with other physical therapy treatments to support recovery and improve quality of life.

Mechanical Traction

Cervical and Lumbar Traction are gentle, non-invasive therapies used to relieve pressure on the spine and alleviate pain in the neck (cervical) and lower back (lumbar) regions. This technique involves applying controlled, mechanical or manual force to stretch the spine, which can help reduce compression on discs and nerves, improve alignment, and promote healing. Traction is commonly used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and general spinal stiffness. It is often incorporated into a comprehensive physical therapy plan to enhance mobility and reduce discomfort
