What are the benefits of pelvic floor therapy?

In addition to learning more about your condition and your pelvic floor treatment can help improve bladder and bowel control, relieve pelvic pain, support your body during pregnancy and postpartum and enhance your sexual function/health.

What to expect at your first visit

Your session will start with a private and comfortable conversation with a certified pelvic health therapist to discuss your medical history, current symptoms, and therapy goals.

The next step is a general physical assessment: With your consent, your therapist may perform an external and/or internal assessment of your pelvic floor muscles. This helps evaluate strength, coordination, and any other areas of tension or discomfort. The assessment is always done in a private room with sensitivity and respect for your comfort.

Each session will include personalized education in which you will learn about your pelvic floor and how it affects your symptoms.
